It is amazing how much farming you are able to do so far North. The growing season is much shorter than the rest of USA.

Amazing to see fellow Alaskans paving the way for in-state food security. One of my first jobs was in a rural town as a produce clerk, and it broke my heart to see how expensive and often low quality vegetables were because of the need for importation. Espcially when technology with greenhouses as well as outdoor crops can be so readily accessible to an enterprising and driving individual or group who makes it their mission to maintain a farm. Certianly not glamorous, but necessary. Espcially the farther away from the major hubs you get! Definitely a goal to take all I've learned about growing food and raising animals in the lower 48's and move back to Alaska to help my home state flourish on a local level! When people are well nourished, a whole new world of opportunity opens up on an individual level, which only expands to the community as a whole.

I seriously doubt these people give 90% to the #indigenous whose parents, themselves and children will suffer rape and murder so these people can farm on this stolen land... the hidden costs are the ongoing rape, abuse and murder of the #indigenous to steal ever more of our resources and lands! What is amazing is how many will say I am the one being rude!!! they just want to "share" our stuff without our permission and whether we agree or not, that all, not that big a deal right??!!

Farmers are all for buy locally so they can charge you as much as a grocery stores that get crops from out of state...sorta like going to store and generic items now only cents lower then name brand items..ITS ALL ABOUT GREED and nothing more...They figure they should make same price but not have all the cost to pay out to get them crops brought in..so farmers want to charge whast the stores do so they can make more profit without all the transporting expenses the stores have to cover...Like a someone trying to demand same price for a car that a car lot is asking...Somehow humans just cant be honest and do the right things...always corruptible and easy to turn towards greed...Permanently flawed..

try duck well, I for one, would rather buy from the local farmers! They earn every penny they get cause most of your local farms don't have all the big machinery to does almost all the work that the commercial farms have.

just please do not use the term "human" as this greed philosophy only applies to europeans and their war criminal kin committing genocide on this half of the world!

    • @eyelessjack2825

try duck they earn and need every penny of it. Do you think ranching is cheap? If I could see where my meat comes from and get it fresher than the store for the same price then I’m game. Do you know who can guarantee the food you put on your table isn’t full of steroids and other shit? I can tell you it’s not Walmart or Costco. They never even see where the food they sell comes from.
